Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. However, her parents did not want her to pursue acting until she became an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry admitted that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school. She began acting to make friends during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. After graduating Perry went into New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought Perry back home to California and she was able to find acting jobs. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom on Broadway in 2013 The show featured her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry played a supporting role in ABC's political thriller Scandal that starred her father. She was also cast in the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was picked via auditions the fact that she had a deep connection with it.
