Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding was born Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford on the 30th of December 1986. Ellie Goulding's infectious electronic sound quickly propelled her to the top of the charts when she was noticed by the public in 2010. The singer-songwriter was able to accomplish this through the songs "Starry Eyed" as well as "Guns and Horses". Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Her unique soprano sibilance and knack of writing captivating, yet emotional tracks, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap, stands at the forefront of the current mainstream and an independent, artistic pop.Goulding quickly moved from the blogosphere to print media, garnering the attention of mainstream magazines like The Guardian and fielding offers from record labels. She ultimately signed a major-label deal to Polydor Records and began making arrangements for her debut album.
