Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 - - May 7, 2010 American) was an American singer and actress. She appeared in films in the 1940s as well as the 1950s[2] and on television during the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara became her name professionally and she was then offered a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation neededColumbia Pictures [citation required]. Additionally, she had the opportunity to work working with the studio's comedy shorts and B-features. This was soon shortened to Adele Mara. One of Mara's early roles was as a receptionist for the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. She plays the role of Alias Boston Blackie (1942), as the sister to an innocently accused and freed prisoner. When her Columbia contract was up after which she joined Republic Pictures where she was frequently seen in outdoor adventures and westerns. [citation needed] She appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love attraction), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
